After the first operation of the Dajiang Elf Phantom 4 drone in 2016, I was infected by the charm of the drone.
Unwilling to fly in Beijing, resulting in higher flight costs, so the number of flight operations is not too much, basically to help friends take some scattered shots, can only be used as a sample after editing. So shooting a complete work has become my goal, and I have recently completed the filming of the "Golf Course Lawn Wedding".
As a related practitioner, I will share the process and experience of the filming based on the experience before and after the filming.

Early communication
The importance of pre-communication should not be overstated. As a practitioner, when personally suggesting to encounter relevant shooting items, it is best to communicate with the photographer first to confirm the shooting idea; to understand the shooting environment, to have a heart At the end, then prepare the shooting plan and shooting equipment in a targeted manner; confirm the shooting time, in terms of time is absolutely not to be mistaken.

Preliminary preparation
According to the communication needs, check the performance of the machine. If you have the ability, you must prepare the machine, just in case. More importantly, to calculate the number of batteries needed, this shot took a total of 7 batteries, using the Dajiang Elf Phantom 4 Pro. The inspection of mobile phones, articles, and vehicles is all done well. In short, there is no matter how small.

Live shooting
Shooting format
Must choose 4K resolution, although the final submission is 1080P, but in the case of the original material 4K, the generated 1080P quality will be more clear.
The format selects the D-LOG mode for late coloring, and here is a problem on the D-LOG. In previous firmware versions, the EV in D-LOG mode was adjustable, so you needed to continue looking at the histogram to ensure proper exposure and reduce ISO.
The latest firmware version of the D-LOG mode, IOS is locked 500, EV is not adjustable, consulted some official information, this is deliberate, specifically why I really do not understand, but there is no need to look at the histogram The exposure is also normal.
In addition, there is a very good function, that is, you can see a small square button in the interface. After clicking, the image is instantly colored, and the record is still in D-LOG mode, which is like this intimate function. Finally, I can see the picture!
2. Empty lens acquisition
Before the ceremony begins, be sure to take more empty shots to enrich the clip material. Because there is no handheld device, when shooting the indoor ballroom, I hold the Phantom 4 Pro and simulate the Lingbi walking record.
Take more shots that are not available in conventional equipment, but it is a close-up shot to avoid the aesthetic fatigue on a large number of large panoramic shots.
3. Ceremony record
According to the process time, capture the arrival of the car team, the admission of the guests, the important part of the bride and groom ceremony. The lens is generally used to manually brush the pot to ensure that the picture is not so rigid, and the mobility is strong, and do not fly to find the feeling, resulting in unexpected safety problems. In this case, the beauty of the picture is not important. The important thing is security, and "photographed."
However, in the actual shooting, the unexpected problem is still coming. When shooting the empty mirror, I deliberately checked the interference of the signal channel, and decisively chose the 5G frequency band, which is also very smooth. But when the ceremony started, it just took off, the picture was not able to get stuck, and there would be a flower screen phenomenon.
Because there was a large-scale live event project in the past, in the face of this kind of accident, I was able to support it. The plane also listened to the remote control, so everything was hardened by the first few seconds of the picture and feel. After a battery has been completed and lowered, it will be restarted and restarted for 2.4G. The situation remains the same. Change another landing, change 5G, come back and forth many times and finally give up, can not solve but can only rely on experience hard support.
Afterwards, I consulted some friends with relevant experience to know that this is a normal accident in the scene shooting, it is normal. There is nothing to do when testing the rehearsal. That is because the power of other wireless devices is not fully loaded. When the opening is full, the drones may not be able to eat. This is also a reminder for everyone. In actual operation, there are There may be various unexpected situations, so you should be prepared as much as possible before the job, taking into account possible emergencies.
4. Send the ring
In the case of a serious flower screen and a card, the ring is delivered to the ring. This is also the most intense link. From the picture we can see that this ribbon has been more than 3 meters long, which is intentional.
I watched a lot of videos and accidents that sent the ring, and found that a commonality is that the rope is too short, and the host and the newcomer have no sense of awe in the drone aerial camera. It is very dangerous to have no sense of awe!
So I showed the groom some accident videos and studied the following scheme: The rope is extremely long. When taking off, avoid the wind and the airflow of the propeller causing the ribbon to be caught in the propeller, so be sure to straighten the ribbon and start the propeller.
There is no ring in the basket that delivers the ring, because the ribbon is longer, the basket is easy to sway faster, so there is no ring inside. The best man can signal it.
The last shot was shot down, just in time for a gust of wind, and I got a picture that was unexpectedly satisfactory.
5. Material inspection
Finally, I finally reached the end of the ceremony. First of all, I must first look at whether the material I just shot was also affected. In theory, it certainly won't, but checking the material is also necessary. After all, I’m done, and I’m thinking about the idea of ​​editing the next time.

Post-production
Material management
First of all, the material should be classified into the lens and the scene. This can be quickly archived according to the shooting time. Then it is to delete the lens, but remember to back up a copy before deleting. If a complete file is invalid, just delete it. But a video in 5 minutes requires an excerpt of 2 minutes, and it must be a lossless format and requires efficiency.
So here we recommend to use Quicktime's trimming function "command+T" shortcut key, which can quickly save the MOV format in a piecemeal and non-destructive editing, which is very efficient. You can use this method to do the material that you have accumulated for a long time. Finishing, cleaning up the hard disk space, and when you look back at the material, you can improve efficiency.
2. into a piece of concept
I follow one of my own ideas, which is "what can be done under the premise that my ability can be achieved." I believe that these materials will definitely rejuvenate in the hands of the masters, but they can't be too far-reaching to imagine the level that is not yet available. Therefore, based on the available materials, their ability level, and the time of delivery of the finished product, the final product is conceived.
3. Music selection
The customary wedding background music is not very suitable for the wedding of pure aerial photography, and it is inevitable that it will fall into the cliché. Therefore, there are a lot of listening to the choice of background music. This low efficiency is also due to the lack of accumulation of music materials on weekdays. Here, I recommend you to use NetEase cloud music, search for keywords directly, enter the song list option, and then listen to it one by one. If there is no accumulation, it is just a chance. After selecting the background music, add a certain idea, and then think about your "skill tree." Probably a piece of what it looks like, my heart is already in the air.
4. FCPX editing
The clip uses the Final Cut Pro X clip, which was previously used on the Windows platform with Premiere. But since using FCPX, its rendering efficiency and video encoding quality are the core requirements of my conversion platform.
In the process, everyone has different methods. I am used to the music, after a bunch of materials, in a series of good story lines, refined, repeated listening to the feeling is not the pressure rhythm, basically OK.
I still remember the scene screen, the things of Caton, although the final result is harmless, but the composition is still affected. However, we are shooting 4K video, the output is 1080P, which can be enlarged, selected and shifted. Therefore, it is necessary to make some adjustments to the position and proportion of each picture that is not well-formed.
5. Da Vinci Toning
Output the FCPX results to XML and Da Vinci for the bottom operation. In Da Vinci, I used to set up LUTs first. After trying a lot of LUTs, the effect was not ideal. Some were too filmy, so thick that the lawn was yellow. The big summer lawn wedding, we made yellow and yellow, it is quite a feeling, but I guess the groom must not like it, and finally returned to the rational choice of the original DJI 709 version. But here to talk about it, there is no LUTs of Phantom 4 Pro, I hope Dajiang will hurry out!
After the LUTs are finished, you need to calibrate the color of the picture. Here you can use the oscilloscope to pull down the black level to bottom and widen the contrast range. Remember one sentence here, "There is no omnipotent LUTs."
As mentioned above, because the D-LOG mode locks all the parameters, there is more noise, and noise reduction processing is necessary. However, due to computer performance, airspace noise reduction cannot be used, so the performance can be achieved if the performance is satisfied. Time domain noise reduction.
Then local coloring, also due to computer performance, this 4K is really a little hard, serious. Therefore, only the color of the large area of ​​the lawn can be matched to the color of each lens. I have tried my best, try to make the color of the lawn under different lenses and light look like a hue. Because the turf image limiter rendering is not smooth, three iterations of the work were rendered to adjust the color of the lawn.
The end is the rendering and export. In general, it is recommended to use ProRes 422 HQ, which is enough for us to use at the civilian level. If you have to go out of the ProRes 4444 level, the actual test is viewed on a computer. In addition to the large capacity, even if the picture quality is contrasted, it is difficult to see. The resolution is 1080, 25 frames, because we have already finished editing, this is already finished.
