During the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period, the main task of the country's development of the LED industry is to establish a semiconductor lighting technology standard system and intellectual property alliance through the construction of semiconductor lighting industry bases and demonstration projects, and to form an emerging industry of semiconductor lighting in China as soon as possible. The semiconductor lighting project is included in the “Eleventh Five-Year” scientific and technological development plan, as a key work to grasp. At the same time, according to the development status of China's own semiconductor lighting, the state has developed a semiconductor lighting industry development plan in line with its own development and a 2006 technology development road map. In China's semiconductor lighting industry development plan, it is planned to reach a single-light flux of 300lm by 2008, which can penetrate into the field of incandescent lighting.

In the upstream epitaxial wafer and chip production of LED, the United States, Japan, and the European Union still have huge technological advantages, while Taiwan has become an important LED production base in the world. At present, the world has formed a three-pronged industrial structure dominated by the United States, Asia, and Europe, and has taken the lead in Japan, the United States, and Germany. China, Taiwan, and South Korea are closely followed, and China, Malaysia, and other countries and regions are actively following. The echelon distribution. Although China has a certain gap in the production technology of LED epitaxial wafers and chips from the international advanced level, the huge domestic application demand has brought huge development opportunities to LED downstream manufacturers, such as display screens and landscape lighting fixtures. LED application products have been exported to the United States, the European Union and other countries and regions.
