HP Launches Omen X Game Console Priced From $1,799

TheVerge Chinese Station reported on August 18

Hewlett-Packard Company once again took the field of game consoles. The game console launched this time is a huge cube. Like many game products, this console also uses a sci-fi form factor design and is named "Omen X Desktop" host. The internal configuration of this host is very powerful and it perfectly supports 4K video and VR games. In addition, this host also has a unique design, that is, the structure of the cube can be divided into different areas inside the host, this is very conducive to heat, and removal and installation of hardware is very easy.

The standard version of the Omen X desktop host uses a Skylake-based Core i7 processor and 8GB of memory. It uses a 2TB hard disk with a 256GB SSD and hybrid storage mode. The liquid-cooled cooling design greatly reduces the internal temperature of the host. For graphics cards, AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics cards with 4GB of memory are installed. The host provides 10 USB ports (including 8 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB-C ports). In addition to the above configuration, players can also upgrade the configurations according to their requirements. The host also supports users to install dual card crossfires, regardless of NVIDIA. GeForce GTX 1080 dual graphics crossfire or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X dual graphics crossfire can perfectly support. Omen X desktop host will be officially sold on HP's official website recently, and the basic model is priced at US$1,799 (about RMB 11,932).

With the launch of the Omen X desktop host, HP will also sell the Omen X desktop chassis, providing convenience for players who want to assemble game consoles themselves. The price of this chassis is $599.99 (approximately RMB). Due to the use of the same appearance as the Omen X host, I believe that it will be sought after by many game players. In the case of the chassis, a separate space is reserved for the installation of the graphics card, and four hot-swappable hard disk trays are provided. In addition, it looks like a cube in appearance, and since I haven't seen Star Trek, I feel that this chassis is still somewhat in contact with the robots in Battlestar Galactica.

In addition to the Omen X desktop chassis, Hewlett-Packard also released Omen series of game accessories, including mouse, mouse pad, keyboard, headphones and other products. At the same time, Hewlett-Packard also plans to release a game-specific curved display, but the company has not disclosed any details on this monitor.
