UL certification as a safety certification for lamps exported to North America, although not mandatory, but due to the general recognition of buyers and consumers in the North American market, products exported to the North American market are usually subject to UL certification. The UL certification service is divided into a listing mark, an approval mark, and a random approval mark for different products. Usually the whole lamp applies for the listing mark and the power supply applies for the random approval mark.
FCC certification is a mandatory certification for electromagnetic compatibility. Divided into three categories: Certification, DoC, and Verification. For Verification, the manufacturer or importer must ensure that the product is tested as necessary to confirm that the product meets the relevant technical standards and retains the test report. For DoC, the responsible party (usually the manufacturer or importer) must test the product at the FCC's designated testing facility (typically an NVLAP or A2LA accredited laboratory). For Certification, the equipment responsible party must submit the sample (or photo) and test data to the FCC or its authorized TCB for review. If the FCC rules are met, the device will be awarded an FCC ID number. The type of certification for LED lights is usually VOC (that is, the general self-certified type of certification).
ENERGY STAR certification is a voluntary, non-mandatory certification covering safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and performance requirements. Due to the government's vigorous promotion, the general public has a higher level of acceptance of ENERGY STAR certification. Therefore, many companies will take the initiative to apply for Energy Star certification. At present, in the ENERGY STAR certification, the two most important standards for optical performance requirements are "Energy Product Star Performance Standard V 1.1 for Lighting Products" and "Energy LED Star Performance Standard V1.4 for Integrated LED Lamps".
