Sun Qingcheng said that after the R&D team applied the key technology “microstructure diffuser” to high-efficiency LED streetlights, it could effectively control the irradiation range and reduce light pollution. The optical efficiency of the lamps was increased to between 51% and 81%. Another advantage is that it is more energy-efficient than ordinary LED street lamps.

Sun Qingcheng said that the design of this high-efficiency LED street light can also be applied to other lamps such as bicycle lights. At present, the technology has been transferred to manufacturers, and the transfer of technology has reached NT$25 million, which is expected to be commercialized after six months to one year.
