Video surveillance application of Montgair Metro

project description

Montreal, Canada, is one of the largest cities in North America and has launched the MPM-10 program since 2006. The project requirements include an overall upgrade of the Montreal Metro system to ensure that the new subway can be put into operation in 2014. The entire project included 52 trains and 468 cars. In order to improve the safety of running vehicles, each train needs to be equipped with front-view and rear-view IP cameras.

system requirement
IP cameras can simultaneously perform remote video surveillance and video recording High-quality CCD sensors for crisp picture quality in low-light environments IP cameras must meet EN 50155 and EN 60721-3-1 certification and provide anti-corrosion protection with precise bit rates Control mechanisms to ensure clear picture quality while ensuring limited bandwidth
Moxa solution

The system integrator selected a Moxa VPort 16-M12 IP camera supporting the EN 50155 standard as a rearview camera mounted on the MPM-10 train. The VPort 16-M12 has a built-in CCD sensor that provides clear picture quality in low light conditions. In addition, its metal shell design and glass lens hood are equipped with fireproof and anti-corrosion features. Not only that, Moxa's innovative CBR Pro feature provides more accurate bit rate control, reducing packet loss and providing clear picture quality with limited bandwidth.
