ANADIGICS has introduced five new line amplifier integrated circuits (ICs) for cable TV (CATV) infrastructure applications. These amplifiers help cable service providers increase their system bandwidth, enabling them to offer more digital services, including digital simulcasting of analog channels, high definition television (HDTV) and video on demand.ANADIGICS' line amplifier ICs feature outstanding linearity and noise figure, minimizing signal degradation in the 40 MHz to 1 GHz frequency range for superior picture quality. These devices maintain a low composite triple beat (CTB), composite second order (CSO) and cross modulation distortion characteristics to achieve a full load spectrum. These amplifiers are manufactured using ANADIGICS' proven, time-to-failure, highly reliable MESFET process to minimize costly field repairs. To maximize flexibility, designers can choose between 12 or 24 volt integrated circuits. These new monolithic devices offer high performance, high reliability and simplified system design compared to traditional hybrid amplifiers.
The ACA0862B and ACA0862D are 12 volt devices designed to provide high power levels and can be used as system amplifier output stages. Both have a gain of 11 dB, which in series is equivalent to a hybrid amplifier integrated circuit. The ACA0862B has a lower power consumption than the ACA0862D and is suitable for applications with low output power requirements.
The ACA1206 is also a 12 volt device optimized for use as a system amplifier output stage. The amplifier has a 14 dB gain and can be used to drive an output stage device such as the ACA0862B or ACA0862D. The ACA1206 can be connected in series with an output stage, which is equivalent to a hybrid amplifier integrated circuit.
