The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) helps the driver maintain control of the car. By using a microcontroller, a set of sensors for measuring the lateral and longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle, yaw rate, wheel speed and steering angle, and actuators in the anti-lock braking system, systemic accidents in a single vehicle are expected to be reduced by 34%. Systemic incidents with a single SUV will be reduced by 59%.
The dual-core 32-bit MCU enables individual control of the braking force on each wheel. If a loss of steering control is detected, the ESC can control the brake and active suspension system functions to stabilize the vehicle.
In addition, by increasing the computing power of the ESC system, active and passive security systems can be used together.
