OSRAM completes acquisition of Clay Paky

OSRAM recently issued a press release stating that, as of October 13, Osram has successfully completed the acquisition of Clay Paky. Clay Paky, an Italian supplier specializing in entertainment lighting, produces stage lighting fixtures such as moving head and spotlights, as well as projectors for concerts, theaters, and studios. The approvals required for acquisitions have been obtained from various agencies. Through this move, OSRAM will further expand its position in the field of entertainment lighting. "The successful conclusion of this transaction further strengthened OSRAM's distinctive lighting business in an attractive market," said Wolfgang Dehen, CEO of OSRAM. Pio Nahum was appointed CEO of Clay Paky Division, effective October 13, 2014. He said: "As part of OSRAM, we have good prospects for further growth."

Through the acquisition of Clay PAKY, OSRAM continues to advance its technology and innovation strategy. The innovation-driven entertainment lighting market is very attractive and its growth rate is expected to reach mid-level single digits. Clay Paky will become the specialty lighting business of OSRAM, including automotive lighting and display events.

Recently, at the PLASA exhibition in London, Clay PAKY won the PLASA 2014 Innovation Award for its new moving head “Mythos”. This lamp has a very advanced light mixing method, combining low beam and spotlight. So far, Clay PAKY has won the award eight times.
