Qualcomm’s huge acquisition of NXP’s deal is facing a variable. New York hedge fund Elliott Management recently disclosed its 6% stake in NXP Semiconductors and said NXP's share price was “seriously undervalued”, suggesting that it might push NXP to sell to Qualcomm at a higher price.

In October last year, Qualcomm announced plans to acquire NXP at a price of $110 per share for a total of nearly $39 billion.
