De today exclusively disclosed a new road map from AMD's official website, which shows in more detail the launch process and power consumption specifications of the bulldozer-based desktop processor, Fusion APU Fusion processor. The bulldozer architecture will attack the desktop and server sectors in the second and third quarters of 2011, respectively, with the desktop version codenamed Zambezi. From the roadmap, the first Zambezi processors will have at least four models, including:
- Two eight-core, four-module, three-level cache 8MB, thermal design power 125/95W, may be the earliest release, is expected to become the world's first desktop-class eight-core processor (Intel's expected in the third quarter);
- A six-core, three-module, three-level cache is still 8MB, thermal design power 95W;
- A quad-core, dual-module, three-level cache is halved to 4MB, and thermal design power consumption is still 95W.
These processors will be manufactured using GlobalFoundries 32nm SOI process, support Turbo Core dynamic acceleration technology and DDR3-1866 memory, and use Socket AM3+ package interface, the new 9-series chipset will also debut.
Compatibility can be confirmed that the current AM3 interface processor can still be used for AM3+ motherboards in the future, but the future AM3+ processors cannot match the current AM3 motherboards.
Fusion APU, the low-power version of Zacate will be the first to come out at the end of this year, TSMC 40nm process, dual-core E-350, single-core E-240 models, support for DDR3-1333 memory, integrated Loverland DX11 GPU graphics core And UVD3 video decoding engine, using Socket FT1 BGA package, thermal design power consumption of 18W.
The high-performance version of Llano will arrive in the third quarter of 2011, but the model is very rich, with six products in the season. The first batch has two quad-cores, a triple-core, and two dual-cores. The Beavercreek DX11 GPU graphics core is integrated in the four/three cores. The thermal design power consumption is 100W. The dual-core integrated Winterpark DX11 GPU graphics core and thermal design power consumption. 65W. A dual core will be added later.
Llano APUs are manufactured on GlobalFoundries 32nm process. They also integrate UVD3 video decoding engine, memory support to DDR3-1600, and socket interface FM1.
