NVIDIA 28nm Kepler approaching the tab

While actively deploying the GeForce 500 series, NVIDIA is also working hard to develop new core technologies for the next generation of new technologies. According to the latest news, NVIDIA is already very close to the 28nm process GPU core Kepler, the most critical step is to be completed.

The NVIDIA 28nm chip continues to be handed over to the old Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which has already completed the workout of some new process network chips. However, the GPU graphics chip is much more complicated and involves billions of transistors, which naturally takes more time.

It is expected that the new Kepler family will begin to be released in the fourth quarter of this year, or that this fall season, it will first hit the high-end desktop area, and then gradually spread to the mainstream and mobile markets.

The next generation of AMD’s “Southern Islands” will also be manufactured by TSMC and will not be handed over to GlobalFoundries as previously stated. The main reason is that AMD does not have the resources to undertake the two teams of R&D engineers. However, the exact progress is still unknown. There have been reports that the Radeon HD 7000 series will be available in the second quarter of this year, but it is clearly too optimistic. It still has to wait until at least the end of the second quarter.
