On October 8, the government of Guizhou Province convened a power coal dispatching special meeting to work on the development of energy and industrial economy in the fourth quarter and next year. Vice Governor Sun Guoqiang attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
At present, the province's coal and electricity production has maintained an overall growth trend. From January to September, Guizhou Power Grid accumulated a total of 96.6 billion kWh of electricity, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year. West-to-East electricity delivery reached 28.1 billion kwh, an increase of 24% year-on-year, and provincial electricity consumption was 61.3 billion kwh, an increase of 8% year-on-year. From January to August, the province's coal production exceeded 110 million tons, an increase of 11% year-on-year. It is estimated that 174 million tons of coal can be produced throughout the year.
Sun Guoqiang requested that in the fourth quarter of this year, we must maintain the scale of West-East electricity transmission and ensure that coal production reaches 174 million tons in the year. We must scientifically arrange and dispatch hydropower to ensure that the value of hydropower storage at the end of the year is 5 billion kilowatt-hours. Advantages of water and fire are mutually beneficial; we must do everything we can to increase the degree of electricity used in the province, and maintain the stable operation of the industrial economy; advance the construction and investment of power generating units as planned. We must continue to ensure the completion of the construction of thermal power and hydropower projects, increase coal production and power generation, and lay a solid foundation for the economic development of the province in the first quarter of next year.
