According to relevant media reports, there are reports from the industry that as China is expected to become the world's largest PC market in 2012, Lenovo's notebook shipment growth rate will exceed the number of other manufacturers in the next 1-2 years.
According to IDC's research, Lenovo's notebook shipments next year will grow from 18 million this year to 20 million.
Notebook OEMs are currently competing for Lenovo's orders. Wistron and Compal have become Lenovo's major notebook OEM partners in 2011, and both have received orders of 8 million each. Another foundry Quanta also received 5 million orders.
Among them, Wistron will create 6 million ThinkPad notebooks and 2 million home-made IdeaPad models for Lenovo. Compal found that Lenovo had nearly 50% of its IdeaPad notebooks, and the rest of the notebook models were built by Quanta.
