The train event recorder is the "black box" on the train. It is mainly used to record the sudden events or abnormal phenomena during the train travel, to ensure the safety of the train travel process, and also to investigate the causes of the train after the accident. The train event recorder records relevant data collected from various sensors installed on the train at the time of the situation, facilitating the investigation and research of the cause of the train accident afterwards. Among these sensors, the pressure sensor mainly plays a role in monitoring and measuring the pneumatic brake system of the train.
In the pneumatic brake system of the train, the train brake system is inactive when the brake line is pressurized. When the train needs to brake, the brake line is decompressed so that the braking torque is combined to generate the braking force. Since the brake lines of each car are connected to each other, if there is a leak in one of the cars, the braking of the whole car will be affected. In order to reduce the possibility of such accidents, the designer uses two sets of pressure sensors to separately apply the pressure of the brake cylinder (120 psi, about 8 standard atmospheres) and the pressure of the air joint (160 psi, about 11 standard atmospheres). Measure, not connect the sensors into a ring structure. In this way, the location of the situation can be clearly recorded, which is convenient for post-fault analysis and repair.
Honeywell's MLH Series pressure sensors feature the latest ASICs and an economical and reliable metal isolation diaphragm design. At the same time, the product is temperature compensated in the working temperature range, and has been calibrated and amplified to make the MLH have higher accuracy and stability. Finally, the MLH series of pressure sensors are rugged, high-range, multi-pressure interfaces and IP65 protection features make it the best choice for this application.
